Where is ciaopp?

Hello, I tried to compile CiaoDE dev version (CiaoDE 1.15-1712-ga8c821b) but could not get ciaopp. This is the error: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ./ciaosetup: line 559: cd: /home/bpdp/master/prolog/ciao/development/source-code/CiaoDE-1.15-1712-ga8c821b/ciaopp: No such file or directory ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It looks like the process could not find ciaopp dir (which is not exist). I tried to find the ciaopp source code anywhere (the ciaopp dir) to no avail. I know this thread is a couple months old, but thought I would let everyone know... I too was getting errors about Emacs not being installed (even though it was, in fact, installed) with the stable CiaoDE 1.14.2 release. I downloaded the latest development version, CiaoDE 1.15-1712-ga8c821b, and it installed and downloaded/installed Emacs and both are working for Prolog (though not the Java integration.) This is on a 64bit Windows 7 PC.

Troubles running java samples

I initially downloaded the "stable" release for Windows, CiaoDE-1.14.2-13646.exe... but had considerable problems getting Emacs (and other aspects running properly.) I downloaded and installed CiaoDE-1.15-1712-ga8c821b.exe and it appears to be running well generally. I am able to run a handful of the examples in CiaoDE\ciao\examples\misc (I haven't tried them all, but the suduko and bignums both worked without issue in Emacs.) However, I am unable to run the agenda sample (CiaoDE\ciao\examples\agenda). When I click "(Re)Load buffer into top level", I am presented with the Ciao command interface below in Emacs, but I also see the following error message, "(Dynamic link failed)". If I try starting the program, I am given the following error... "?- main. Error: Could not find or load main class CiaoJava.PLJavaServer {ERROR: sockets:connect_to_socket/3 - existence error: procedure:sockets:connect_to_socket/3 does not exist} no" I am given the same error upon loading the calculator sample from CiaoDE\ciao\library\javall\examples\pl2java. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, The Prolog Unicode 6.2 resources developed by VivoMind LLC are now available as public domain software at: https://github.com/VivoMind The VivoMind Prolog Unicode Resources are a set of plain Prolog files resulting from the conversion of most (but not all) official UCD 6.1 files and updated for the changes in the 6.2 standard. A set of auxiliary predicates is also included to simplify using the provided tables of code point properties. Some of the original data was split in individual files per code point property to make it easier to load only the resources required by a specific application. Enjoy, Arun Majumdar Paulo Moura

"Minimalistic" HTTP Server

Hi to All! I want to comment that I created a minimalistic HTTP server some time ago. This server is a simple one, so don't use it for production or big softwares, it may lack of security and it may be a bit slow for such a thing. It's entirely written in Ciao Prolog, and works in my Ciao Prolog 1.14.2 at least for now. If you have problems in your version, please tell me. When I was creating this program, I had to face two problems: there was no string manipulation library, neither any HTTP library. So I had to create both: - pc_text_processing.pl :: Is a simple text processing library. It has the well-known "substr", "trim", "replace" and some usefull predicates already developed. - pc_http_parser.pl :: Is a library that implements predicates for the RFC-1945 and RFC-2068(the standards for HTTP-0.9 and HTTP-1.1). I tried to use the same names as the RFCs designates. PillowCase(the name of the project) can be configured changing the file pc_config.pl, just set the home_dir/1 and start the dance_pillowcase/0 predicate. Hi John, not sure exactly if this is what you are looking for, but here is an example of how to load a module dynamically: > :- module(_,_). > > :- import(bar,[b/1]). > > main(X) :- > use_module(bar), > b(X). The import declaration should only be used in these cases (see the manual). It only declares the interface: bar is not loaded until run time when the use_module call is executed (and can thus have different contents for each run). A two-argument module declaration ':- module(_,_).' loads in the executable all the normal Prolog functionality and thus also the runtime compiler (needed for dynamic predicate load). If you are specifying the packages loaded by hand (i.e., using the third argument of the module declaration) then the runtime compiler is not loaded by default (useful for smaller executables) and you have to load it explicitly: > :- module(_,_,[]). > > :- import(bar,[b/1]). > :- use_module(library(compiler)). > > main(X) :- > use_module(bar), > b(X). The thing is: I tried programming an O'Ciao class made by myself using foreign_interface for some of the predicates of the class, and got the same errors, .po and .itf files, but no .o or .c generated. With the .po and .itf files already in place, compiling again (same command) generated .c and .o files without errors. ¿Is this the expected behavior? Thank You, Regards Javier
