I have used Amzi! prolog in the past, and enjoyed being able to build a front end in VB, whilst programming in Prolog for the brains of the application.
Can Ciao be called from VB and use an ODBC (or ADO, etc.) recordset?

Not at the moment, I'm am afraid. A proper ODBC interface is in the works (and we welcome collaboration!).
