Perhaps you could get a login account on our alpha/linux machine for a few days or so; however that would have to wait until our sys.adm. is back from his trip to Japan. Let me know if that would suit your, connection might be slow though...
OK, thanks for the offer. That could be a solution. In the meantime we are trying to locate one of those here: ours is a huge CS department, three large buildings with over 3000 students and 200 faculty -- some lab somewhere in the three buildings could have one of those machines with the right version of the OS! Will keep you updated.
